BISERA is a payment system servicing client transfers in EUR, based on the rules, practices and standards of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), providing settlement finality.
The system accepts for execution bulk and instant payments in EUR, based on SEPA schemes of the European Payments Council, using payment instruments SEPA credit transfer and SEPA instant credit transfer.
BISERA accepts payment orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The settlement of the payments is based on a prepaid model, with pre-funded liquidity by the participants with money held on accounts in the Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer system TARGET.
BORICA provides SEPA reachability to BISERA participants through interconnections with other clearing houses such as the German Deutsche Bundesbank, the Dutch-German equensWordline and the Polish KIR.
From July 2024, BISERA provides full SEPA reachability for bulk payments in EUR through the STEP2 system of EBA Clearing.
Full SEPA reachability for instant payments in EUR is provided through the TIPS (TARGET Instant Payment Settlement) system. The service will be launched in October 2024.
